The exhibition focuses on public art projects developed in the center of Athens. It is an attempt to describe the historical context which usually disappears with the passage of time. The work maps and presents the creative process and public debates around the installation of sculptures, as well as the results of competitions aiming to change the urban fabric, in the form of an exhibition and a book. It also presents new sculptures by Toronto artist Derek Liddington, based on conversations around a shared memory reflecting an interest in its impacts. Some of the examples remain in the public space, while others have been destroyed or withdrawn. Shown together - the potential, the relocated or the ephemeral - are not the exception, but the very modalities constituting our relationship with public space in the urban environment.
