the garden of god

The Municipality of Muddenahalli, suburb of Bangalore, asked for a public park that would offer the residents a green zone next to the city to enjoy nature, medidate, meet and have intellectual exchange. The proposal is based in a thorough research in Indian paintings depicting scenes in nature and in the long tradition the country has in garden architecture. It was also heavily influenced by vernacular structures meant to provide shelter from elements. “The Garden of God” is an ode to the luscious nature of India. All plants and structures are organised in four areas featuring a gradiation from short to tall vegatation and from the lone wanderer to the community - a gradiation of nature and social interaction.
